2 Bible Verses When You are Struggling

If you are struggling with something, I highly recommend reading the following chapters in Psalm

Psalm 139

Psalm 91

I have read both of these chapters when I struggle with something, such as, loneliness.

Both of these chapters reveal that God is a god that will be with us no matter what and will protect us. I am aware that sounds cliché, but it is true.

Here are some verses from these two chapters to help give you an idea how comforting these chapters are:

“Because he loves me,” says the Lord,

“I will rescue him;

I will protect him, for he

acknowledges my name.

He will call on me, and I will answer

him;

I will be with him in trouble,

I will deliver him and honor him.

With long life I will satisfy him

and show him my salvation.” (Psalm 91:14-16)

Jesus hugging

Where can I g from your Spirit?

Where can I flee from your presence?

If I go up to the heavens, you are there;

if I make my bed in the depths, you

are there.

If I rise on the wings of dawn,

if I settle on the far side of the sea,

even there your hand will guide me,

your right hand will hold me fast.

If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me

and the light becomes night

around me,”

even the darkness will not be dark to you;

the night will shine like the day,

for darkness is as light to you. (Psalm 139:7-12)

What is Best for the Kingdom

Hey guys,

It feels like it has been a while, but I have probably not posted for longer than I have.

Over the years, my perspective has changed about the LGBTTQ. At first I thought “Love the sinner, but hate the sin.” However, that is not actually the case and not a good mentality to have. For example, if I love the sinner, but hate the sin, I would be more focused on the sin aspect without being consciously, or purposely, aware of it. After all, aren’t we all sinners, why is different with our community compared to the LGBTTQ community? Easy answer, it is not.

I know not all Christians are on the same page about the LGBTTQ community. Such as, being gay or lesbian a sin or not, whether Christians can be gay, and so on. There is one thing I know for sure, there is a theory for Christians who are gay, and yes they exist, that if they have those feelings toward the same-sex, then it is best not to act on those feelings. After all, if it is going to cause friction between people that they may not understand, or want to understand. I know there are times where you do have to speak up, but who knows how long this debate between the Christians and LGBTTQ community is going to last.

I understand this topic is controversial and I don’t want to start any arguments, all I want is for everyone reading this to ‘hear’ me out on what I am saying here.

Blogging World

Hey guys,

person on computer

I thought I would let you know what is going on in the blogging world, well, in my blogging world anyways. So, it was about a year ago that I considered blogging because I knew that I wanted to make an income in about a year. I know I have not posted as often as I would have liked while I was in school because….well, I was busy with school work, but now that I have graduated. I can focus more on my blog because of graduating from university this past April. Right now, I am investing in learning how to make an income on blogging.

For those of you who are like “How can you make money blogging” Here are the following ways:

  1. If you are a photographer, a blog is a great way to promote your business. Even if you are not a photographer, if there are any services that you can offer or want to find a way to promote your business, it would not hurt to consider blogging.
  2. If there is a product that you want to sell, that can be done through blogging.
  3. You can join an affiliate program where you make a commission by recommending a product that was posted on your blog. For example, if I do a blog post about how to save money on furniture and recommend a product from Wayfair (I am not sure if you can do an affiliate program through them, this is just an example) that where a link is posted on the blog, then I can get a commission through them if someone buys that product through them.
  4. You can do sponsored blog posts. Where you sign up with a company or brand that can sponsor you if you write posts related to the products that they sell.
  5. Another way is through ad networks, if someone wants to make a full-time income, yes, it is possible, then this is not the way that someone should rely on. It may be the easier way because you get paid based on the amount of viewers you get. This is a good way to earn income, just make sure it is not the only thing you are relying on because a part of blogging is about giving the viewers what they want. If you are not writing what they are interested in writing, well, they are not going to read it.

Here are the following ways that one can make an income through blogging.

Motivational Monday: Love Part 2

Keep Calm Becuase God Loves You

I have made a post last month about loving yourself and I want to focus this post on love as well, but on a different take.

There are times where I struggle with friendships because sometimes I would think some people are my friends, but they do not see me as a friend. I really struggled with this in my third year of university. I would think that I would be friends with people for a few years and then they would no longer want to be my friend. The problem, I thought this was the way by everyone, but that is not true. I do have friends that I have been friends for a while now, I still have one friend that I have been friends for as long as I can remember. Even if that was not true, I cannot say that about everyone because God does not view me that way.

If there is one thing that God is not, He is not a God that rejects. He loves everyone very much and wants what is best for everyone. The same way that a parent loves a child.

The next time that you think that no one loves me or everyone I know rejects me, just think of the people who don’t as well as God.

He loves you so much that He died on the cross for you, so you don’t have to and so you don’t have to make a sacrifice.

Motivational Monday: God, Where Are You?

Psalm 91

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the                        Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom          I trust.”

Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He             will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his                     faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night,               nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the         plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at               your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes           and see the punishment of the wicked.

If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no             harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command           his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their         hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion         and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

“Because he loves me”, says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he               acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with                 him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and         show him my salvation.”

This is a good verse to read if you are ever going through a hard time.

I was looking out my window one evening and noticed a single star appeared. Seeing that star got me thinking, how we may feel alone in this broken world, but we are not truly alone because God is there. He loves you so much that you are worthy to die for. I know that in some circumstances it is hard to see where He is in the picture; we have all gone through something(s) that was difficult to go through. If you look in the Bible, the people in there have gone through some pretty tough times, including being killed for their faith, even a man who used to persecute Christians converted and preached the Gospel even if it costed him his life.

The one question that is hard for Christians, even today, to answer and that is… why do bad things happen to good people or why does God allow bad things to happen? During tough times, it can be hard to know where God is. We all have gone through tough times, just because some of us are a Christian or religious or just simply have a positive outlook on life do not have life easier than anyone else. When it comes to the question(s) on why bad things happen to good people or why does God allow bad things to happen, there are theories that can help answer these questions. One theory I have is that, it is not necessarily that God allows or wants bad things to happen, but it is the result of the Fall where Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit that can be found in the Christian Bible in Genesis. Another theory, still related to the Fall, is not the fault of God, but humanity. Humans are not perfect, they are going to make mistakes, and, as a result of that, even good people are going to be affected by those mistakes. The important thing to keep in mind is that God is good and He is always going to be by your side no matter what.

Motivational Monday: Singleness, Not Truly Alone

Sorry I have not posted for a while everyone, been having problems with my computer.

Anyways, one evening I was looking out my window and a saw a single star appeared. Seeing that star made me think of something. One of the big reasons on why we do not like to be single, and that is we do not like to be alone. The reality is, as long as we have God by our side, we are never alone. He wants us to have an intimate relationship with Him. When we have that relationship with God, we have all we need. I am not saying that we cannot want to be in a relationship or get married, but it cannot be your number one. After all, only God can fill in the hole that is meant to be for Him and not for your boyfriend/girlfriend, wife/husband, and/or friend(s).

After all, He wants to be your first love.

Discerning Your Call

As I was doing my devotion this morning and beginning to pray, I felt the desire on how and why I wanted to make a difference. I remember thinking, “This is Canada, how is it that poverty, homeless, and even human trafficking exists here?” My dream for what I want to do or the “group” that I want to work with specifically has changed, but the fact that I want to stay in Canada has not changed. Don’t get me wrong, if God ever calls me to go overseas for short-term missions, I will go. But, I know in the long-term, I feel called to stay in Canada.

Anyways, this is my calling, not everyone has the same calling. We are all called by God to do something, whether that involves staying at your home country, going overseas, or what not.

If you know what God has called you to do, go pursue it. If not, ask God what He wants you to do. Know your passions and skills that can also help you decide what you want to do.

If you know ways on how you can find your passion, feel free to comment below.

Motivational Monday: Love

love_died_cross_thorns_crown_heart

So, it is Monday, ready for some motivation? 😉

Growing up, I have, and do try to, love others above myself. However, little did I know until only a few years ago that I was not loving myself as much as I should. Just to clarify, I do not have depression or anything related, but I am still guilty of not loving myself sometimes. I have also struggled with rejection and sometimes I believe the lies that the devil that Satan tells me and, not going to lie, it is hard not to believe. I know there is some things that I have to work on because we all do. However, even during movements like these, there are truths, God’s truths, that I have to believe. Mainly because, it is the truth.

Those are the following:

God is love

He is a God that will not reject you

He wants what is best for you

You are worth dying for because He has already died for you and, if He has to (which He doesn’t), He would do it again

When you are struggling with loving yourself and/or rejecting, just remember these four things that I just listed because these are true even if you do not see it in your situation.

Don’t get me wrong, I know we are meant to live in community and it is important to be in a community, but you have to make sure you are in the right community that will lift each other up and you as well. Just wanted you all to remember that if you struggle with loving yourself and/or rejection that God loves you

Motivational Monday #2: Progress

running the race

I just wanted to encourage you that if you are struggling with something and it seems that you are going nowhere, focus on making progress and you will get to where you want to get. It may take longer than you think, but I promise you, as long as you keep working it at it, it will get better. You will even get to where you want to go.

I know for myself, I have been struggling with my thoughts and thinking the way of Christ. It has been something that I have struggled with for a while and I want to get better. There are days where I have done better than others, but if I work on making progress and know where I want to get to, it will get better.

If we focus entirely on our goal and don’t realize the progress we have made to be able to achieve closer to our goal, then it can be hard to make it to your goal or that you made progress.

I remember that I took a Behaviour Modification course, one of the things that we learned is that not only are we to reward behaviour when we have achieved our behavioural goal, but when we have made progress in the goal as well.

I am not saying, don’t focus on where you want to be, but don’t make yourself feel bad if you are making progress and yet not making it at your goal yet.
